The Evil Dead movies are iconic horror films, loved by many horror fans all over the world. The musical accurately (and hilariously) captures the nature of the first two films, with dialog from the third. The entire musical is filled with memorable and funny songs and one-liners that left the audience in stitches. Since this was only a college student production, the special effects had to be done on a low budget, but all the effects were still extremely well done. The acting was also phenomenal, especially when Ash’s hand became possessed. The actor got a standing ovation for a beautifully executed bit of acrobatics (he actually grabbed his own hair and did a full flip). The blood splatter was also a nice touch. Ponchos were even available for the audience members who didn’t wish to get bloody. All in all, this musical was amazing; it was well performed, the songs were epic, and the directing was perfect. This is a musical that shouldn’t be missed!
