Coolness: Arizona Diamondbacks to host ‘Zombie Night’!

Arizona Diamondbacks Zombie Night

Take two of my favorite pastimes, Baseball and Zombies, combine the two and what do you have? MLB’s Arizona Diamondbacks is hosting their first ever Zombie Night this Friday, April 25th against the Philadelphia Phillies at Chase Field. The undead are shambling into every aspect of popular culture and now have their sights set on Major League Baseball. Festivities will include a pre-game zombie walk, zombified player headshots, and giveaways from AMC’s The Walking Dead. Read on for more details.

The Arizona Diamondbacks will host their first-ever Zombie Night Friday when they host the Philadelphia Phillies at Chase Field.

More than 1,000 zombies are expected to attend a pregame Zombie Walk around the warning track at 5:45 p.m.

The night of the “un-dead” will include giveaways and prizes from the hit AMC show “Walking Dead,” zombiefied player headshots on dbTV and a Gila River Casinos postgame fireworks show set to zombie-like music.

There will also be a haunted maze that all fans are welcome to experience along the main concourse in front of the Coors Light Strike Zone. Kids will be designated as “Official Zombie Hunters” and will get a chance to have their faces painted at the Phoenix Children’s Hospital Sandlot.

The Zombie Night package includes a survival kit, a drawstring bag, a T-shirt and a mini-bat.

The Dbacks marketing department looks to have the pulse of pop culture in their grasp. These types of promotions are just what baseball needs to put butts in the seats, I wish more teams would do clever marketing promotions like this.
