From The Press Release
Rising cult starlet Natalie Jean is going to be making rounds this fall festival season in both the guesting and hosting capacity. Fresh off the preview tour of the critically praised Adam Ahlbrandt features Cross Bearer and The Cemetery, Jean takes back to the road to host two film festivals and also be on-hand for the World Premiere of the movie duo, collectively known as Buried in Flesh: An Adam Ahlbrandt Double Feature. The screening will take place at Pollygrind Film Festival (theatre7, 1406 S. 3rd St, Las Vegas, NV 89104), notorious for spotlighting the top names in cult and grindhouse style filmmaking, and will mark the first time the features have played together, as was Ahlbrandt’s initial vision.
Jean has also been announced as the host of the JABB 48 Hour Film Fest, which takes place within the popular horror convention Days of the Dead Chicago (50 N Martingale Rd
Schaumburg, IL 60173, USA). Run by filmmaker Jason Hoover the festival highlights a selection of new buzzworthy horror as well as underground fan favorites. Both Cross Bearer and The Cemetery will play individually, in what will likely be the very last preview screenings for either.
Coming up first however will be another Chicago event, The Chicago Horror Film Festival (1476 Miner Street Des Plaines, IL 60016), September 27-29. Run by Willy Adkins, the Buried in Flesh team has participated in several of the past festivals created by the local filmmaker, and Jean will be hosting for Adkins this, the 13th season for Chicago Horror. Also joining the festival will be guest Alex Vincent, famed for playing Andy Barclay in the Child’s Play series.
Both features- as well as Natalie’s performances- have been given overwhelmingly positive critical response, with Miss Jean as the beaten-down, lovelorn protagonist Heather in Cross Bearer and the lustful punk-turned-demon antagonist in The Cemetery. Receiving commendatory reviews from Horrorhound Magazine, Rue Morgue, Horror Society, Wicked Channel, Decibal Magazine, Lloyd Kaufmann, Film Threat, Horror Happens Radio Show, and a number of underground bloggers, critics, and podcasts, the production team has had their hands full with promoting the entirely independently produced features. this summer both movies were signed to their first international distributor- Illusions Unlmt. of Germany. After the official premiere at Pollygrind they will proceed to national US distribution.
Aside from her acting career, Jean is a producer (she, along with SPFX director Doug Sakmann, co-produced both Cross Bearer and The Cemetery), dancer, model, and a union stuntwoman, with several other projects being released over the remainder of 2013.
