Brea Grant’s latest film, Ice Road Terror, will make its television debut this saturday at 9:00PM. Ice Road Terror is one of many new original films that SyFy will be broadcasting for the summer 2011 season. So, you know the drill – lousy special effects, storyline filled with plot-holes, camp, and the slightest touch of actual horror. Syfy’s official website summarizes the plot plainly as, “A giant flesh-eating reptile takes the arctic region by storm.” Starring alongside Brea Grant are David Lyle, Dylan Neal, Ty Olsson, and Malcolm Stewart. You can watch a preview for Ice Road Terror here, but beware. The two-minute clip contains a death of one of the main characters.
I was lucky enough to interview Brea Grant several months ago. I asked her about Ice Road Terror and this is what she had to say. “It’s going to be on the Syfy network so I’m sure you can imagine what it’ll be like – monsters, effects, general fun. I play a research analyst who is hitchhiking in Alaska when a giant ice creature escapes from the depths of the earth. A few truckers—one really cute one—and I get chased, hurt, and generally put through the ringer by the creature. We filmed in Canada last year and I’ve always wanted to do a monster movie. It was a great opportunity for me to see Vancouver and get to run around screaming about a giant ice creature that technically wasn’t there.” You can read the rest of my interview with Miss Grant here.
Remember to catch Ice Road Terror this saturday at 9:00PM only on Syfy.
