Where Are They Now?: Harvey Scrimshaw

Harvey Scrimshaw. This actor came to notoriety thanks to his role in Robert Eggers’ 2015 horror flick The Witch. Playing the role of Caleb, Harvey found himself as part of a small family of Puritan settlers in the 1600s. Sometime after putting down roots, albeit very secluded roots, the family suffers a series of strange occurrences which stokes their phobia of witchcraft. Caleb is the second family member to come face to face with the witch, and it all goes downhill from there. Harvey’s performance in The Witch, primarily during his death scene, got rave reviews from audiences for showing such emotional/psychological depth at just 13-years-old at the time of filming.

So, where is Harvey Scrimshaw now?

Despite being a huge box office success – grossing over $40,000,000 against a budget of just $4,000,000 – Harvey didn’t get propelled to the A-list of Hollywood heartthrobs. He’s booked roles ever since The Witch, but none of them have been anything to write home about. It started with a bit part in 2016’s comedy Adult Life Skills and followed into 2018 with a small part in drama The Devil Outside.

Possibly his second biggest gig to date, Harvey next appeared in the Netflix fantasy flick The School of Good & Evil. Honestly, I know this movie was quite popular when it came out and I’ve even seen it, but I didn’t realize Harvey, now age 24, was featured in it. Also in 2022, the English actor appeared in three episodes of psychological drama Without Sin. Shortly there-after, his social media accounts went dormant – as far as I can find. Here’s hoping that he’s enjoying a happy, private, lucrative life while occasionally dipping his toes back into Hollywood.

Of course, Harvey can be seen later this year in war drama Shoulders as one of the leads.

I know I’ll be on the lookout for it!
