Miss Cherry Delight’s album Eat the Evidence has made waves amongst horror and pop fans alike, in New York City and internationally, with several acclaimed sold out concerts and a budding presence on the internet platform TikTok. Escaping from months of lockdown in New York City, Cherry is ready to unleash ‘The Monster.’ Her newest single and music video will be available Friday October 30th, 2020. With her producer, music partner/lead guitarist, Justin Ethan Mathews, they have created a sound together reminiscent of 80’s and 90’s goth grunge with a modern electronic dark-pop flavor both sweet and terrifying. She teamed with film director Dylan Mars Greenberg to make the music video for ‘The Monster’, available on YouTube day of release. The single will be available on Spotify, iTunes, Amazon, and all major digital music stores.
Speaking about the single, Cherry says:
“This song was heavily inspired by the Monster in Mary Shelly’s Frankenstein, with some of the characters’ most memorable quotes rephrased. The feeling behind this piece centers around the rage from always having your authenticity misinterpreted and rejected. If you’ve been told your whole life you’re “intense” and you feel like you don’t actually belong anywhere, well, Hello. This is your song. Blast it and scream with me. Let your Monster out.”
Inspired by the likes of Marilyn Manson, Genitorturers and Nine Inch Nails, paired with theatrical genius of Alice Cooper and GWAR, Miss Cherry Delight has combined her expertise in singing, burlesque, and total in-your-face horror spectacle to create memorable, grotesque, and highly erotic music and visuals. With nearly 20 years under her belt as a classically trained singer, Miss Cherry’s solo music career came about after her sold out show Cherry Hellodies, in which she sang rock and metal covers with a live band accompanying burlesque and circus-sideshow performances. Her first album Eat the Evidence made waves in New York City with her party release show selling out. A few months later, the concert sold out over capacity yet again with Cherry Hellodies II: The Second Cumming.
