The announcement just came from a close family friend and representative of the Warren estate, Tony Spera:
“It is with deep sadness that I must announce that Lorraine Warren has passed away. She died peacefully in her sleep at home last night. The family requests that you respect their privacy at this time. Lorraine touched many lives and was loved by so many. She was a remarkable, loving, compassionate and giving soul. To quote Will Rogers, she never met a person she didn’t like. She was an avid animal lover and contributed to many animal charities and rescues. She was wonderful and giving to her entire family.”
Lorraine Warren was a pioneering force in the field of paranormal investigation. Along with her husband, Ed, she was involved in one of the most supposed-hauntings and murder spree in the nation with The Amityville Horror tragedy. She lent her psychic expertise to a number of documentaries and her knowledge is featured in over a dozen books on ghost hunting and demonology.
Ms. Warren was portrayed by Vera Farmiga in The Conjuring, The Conjuring 2, The Nun and upcoming Annabelle Comes Home.
