Monster Mania, the East Coast’s biggest horror con, is reporting that Steve Dash, who played Sack Jason in Friday the 13th: Part 2, passed away yesterday, December 18th 2018, due to complications stemming from a long battle with diabetes. Dash, who was a frequent guest at the popular con, was 74 years old at the time of his passing.
Dash updated his Facebook on December 6th, penning a short post to update fans on his critical health condition: “I have an update on my condition. They’re amputating my left leg tomorrow afternoon. It’s been pretty tough suffering from diabetes, blood clots and a bad heart over the last year. I welcome the decision I’ve made because I will be able to play golf in 6-8 weeks with a brand new leg. Thank you all for your thoughts, prayers and personal messages to me. The [Friday the 13th] fans are the best fans on the planet.”
An actor, stuntman, and producer, Steve Dash also held roles in Alone in the Dark, Mr. Hush and Emerging Behavior.
All of us here at HorrorSociety.com send our condolences to Steve’s family, friends and fans. Thank you for all you did for the Friday the 13th series, and for always being a class act with the fans.
R.I.P. Steve Dash
