Sophie Monk is perhaps one of the most endearing celebrities on social media. It’s nice to see that after almost two decades in show business, she seems to have maintained a charismatic, honest and slightly awkward personality which she broadcasts to thousands of followers. Monk came into prominence at the turn of the new millennium after participating in the Australian version of Popstars – an international reality television franchise that built pop bands out of strangers. The group she would become featured in, Bardot, had a #1 album fueled by their #1 single ‘Poison,’ though the band decided to part ways after their second album was less successful. For a time, Sophie still pursued music and churned out a solo album that earned her a top 5 single in Australia.
Shortly after that, Sophie decided to pursue a string of over entertainment opportunities and has kept up a following as an actress, model, radio host and television personality. Most recently, she was a judge on the eighth season of Australia’s Got Talent and was the winner of season four of Celebrity Apprentice: Australia. But being that this is a horror film website, I most recognize her for her contributions to the genre. Sophie has starred in independently produced Monster, straight-to-DVD hit The Hills Run Red, Life Blood opposite Scout Taylor-Compton, and the Blood Feast remake which is currently hitting select theaters.
