Director Victor Matellano has remade the cult-classic 1974 erotic horror film, VAMPYRES. This new adaptation will debut on DVD and VOD on October 18th from Artsploitation Films. Faithful to the sexy, twisted 1974 cult classic by Joseph Larraz, Vampyres is an English-language tale that pulsates with: raw eroticism, wicked sado-masochism and bloody, creative gore. Director Victor Matellano (Wax, 2014) sets his story in a stately English manor, inhabited by two older lesbian vampires, with their only cohabitant being a man imprisoned in their basement. Their lives are upended when a trio of campers come upon their lair. They seek to uncover their dark secrets and this is a decision that has blood-curdling consequences.
The film is infused with eloquent and atmospheric cinematography, impressive special effects, makeup from master Colin Arthur (2001: A Space Odyssey). The film centrally stars screen genre icon Caroline Munro (At the Earth’s Core, Slaughter High). You can rent Vampyres in just a couple of weeks!
