“Halloween Wars” returns to Food Network on October 2nd with a sixth spooky season of frightful edible delights. As one of the network’s highest rated shows (not kidding), the show has really pulled out all the stops in making this one of the most enjoyable seasons yet with new challenges, special guest hosts, and that whopping prize of $50,000. It all culminates to an explosive season finale which will air on Mischief Night! Could there be any better timing?
This season, comprised of five episodes, will feature six teams battling to become the Halloween Wars Champion, which carries some serious bragging rights! As always, the teams will consist of one pumpkin carver, one cake artist and one sugar artist, but this year there have been some major changes to the host and judging panel. First, Jonathan Bennett has taken over hosting duties from Rossi Morreale. Although he’s most known for his supporting role in Mean Girls, Bennett has recently become a certified show host with two seasons of “Cake Wars” and a season of “Cupcake Wars” under his belt.
Shinmin Li is still on board as the only returning judge, with renowned special effects artist Brian Kinney handing his judging duties over to Child’s Play creator Don Mancini. They of course will be supported in this journey by a rotating panel of celebrity guests including Cassandra Peterson (Elvira, Mistress of the Dark), Sid Haig (The Devil’s Rejects), Greg Plotkin (director of Paranormal Activity: The Ghost Dimension), Bitsie Tulloch (“Grimm”) and Carlson Young (“Scream: The TV Series”). This marks Peterson’s second stint as guest judge on the competition reality series.
See you all on October 2nd when “Halloween Wars” returns to Food Network with its most anticipated season yet!
