  • 1983 – Toby Hemingway, who co-starred in “The Covenant.”
  • 1982 – Alexa Davalos, who co-starred in “The Mist,” “The Chronicles of Riddick” and played “Andromeda” in the 2010 remake of “Clash of the Titans.”
  • 1979 – Monica Keena, who starred in “Freddy vs Jason” and the 2009 remake of “Night of the Demons” among many others.
  • 1979 – Jesse Bradford, who starred in “Swimfan,” “Perfect Life” and “Clockstoppers.”
  • 1970 – The late Glenn Quinn, he starred in “Roseanne (TV Series)”, but he also appeared in the genre fare “Angel (TV Series)”, “Campfire Tales” and “Dr. Giggles.”
  • 1953 – Kevin Van Hentenryck, starred in “Basket Case”, “Basket Case 2”, “Basket Case 3”, “Brain Damage” and more.
  • 1966 – Ashley Laurence, who starred in “Hellraiser 1, 2 & 6.”
  • 1964 – Christa Miller, who co-starred in “Stepfather III” and the TV mini-series “The Andromeda Strain.”
  • 1947 – Clint Eastwood’s ex, Sandra Locke, who appeared in the original version of “Willard,” as well as “The Curse of Demon Mountain” and “A Reflection of Fear.”
  • 1933 – The late Zelda Rubinstein, who starred in “Anguish,” “Behind the Mask: The Rise of Leslie Vernon” and “Poltergeist.” She was also narrator for the TV show “The Scariest Places on Earth.”
  • 1933 – John Karlen who played “Willie Loomis” on the original “Dark Shadows” series.
  • 1918 – Edith Massey, who was part of John Waters acting troupe.
  • 1908 – The man who created James Bond and wrote the novel “Chitty Chitty Bang Bang,” Ian Fleming.

DIED ON THIS DAY IN HORROR HISTORY – MAY 28

  • 2013 – Born in the Philippines, Eddie Romero directed such cult B-movies as “Mad Doctor of Blood Island”, “Brides of Blood”, “Beast of the Yellow Night”, “Blood Devils”, “The Twilight People”, “Savage Sisters”, and many more. He passed away at the age of 88.
  • 2009 – Mort Abrahams, who produced the films Planet of the Apes” and “Beneath the Planet of the Apes,” passed away at the age of 93. He also produced the TV shows “Tales of Tomorrow” and the “Wizard’s Leg & Owlet’s Wing” episode of “Route 66″ starring Boris Karloff, Lon Chaney and Peter Lorre.”
  • 2003 – Peter MacLean, who appeared in the films “Squirm,” “Midnight Offerings” and in numerous episodes of shows such as “Wonder Woman,” “Battlestar Galatica” and “Buck Rodgers” to touch the tip of the iceberg, passed away at the age of 67.
  • 1986 – Lurene Tuttle, appeared in countless TV shows and films. Her genre appearances include “The Clonus Horror”, ” The Manitou”, “The Ghost and Mr. Chicken”, “The Munsters (TV Series)”, “Psycho” and more. She passed away at the age of 78.
  • 1960 – Character actor George Zucco who appeared in numerous films such as the 1939 version of “The Hunchback of Notre Dame,” “The Mummy’s Hand” and “The Mad Ghoul,” passed away at the age of 74.
  • 1960 – Mexican horror film actor Ramón Gay was shot and killed by the jealous husband of a woman he was having an affair with. He was 42 at the time of his death. Some of his films included “The Aztec Mummy,” “Curse of the Doll People” and “Face of the Screaming Werewolf.”
