Showrunners have promised that “Scream: The TV Series” season two will be scarier, more surprising and will have more deaths and romance. I can do without the romance aspect, but – if these promises become reality – it should be enough to keep me interested in the television continuation of the iconic Scream franchise… if you can even call it that.
I’ve been very hard on this series because it’s always appeared as a Scream knock-off to me, a PG-13 “Pretty Little Liars” type show that’s aimed more at high schoolers than true horror fans. It also is in no way canon, only appearing to exist in the same universe as the Wes Craven produced movies. It’s left a lot to be desired, but had enough viewership to get renewed.
I do have to say, however, that “Scream: The TV Series” season two looks a heck of a lot better than season one. True to their word, it does look bloodier and more suspenseful, and it gave me a definite Scream 2 vibe. I’ve provided the recently released trailer for your viewing pleasure below and it looks like season two will continue the Brandon James saga in a different way.
“Scream: The TV Series” season two returns to MTV on May 30th. Are you excited?
