  • 1980 – Jordana Brewster, who co-starred in the recent smash hit “Furious Seven.” She also appeared in “The Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Beginning” and “The Faculty.”
  • 1979 – Writer/Producer/Director/Actor Jose Prendes, who wrote directed and starred in “Corpses Are Forever” and “Monster Man.”. He also appeared in the film “The Day the Earth Stopped.”
  • 1977 – McKenzie Westmore, daughter of famed Hollywood makeup artist Michael Westmore. She has appeared in “Vile”, “Star Trek: Voyager (TV Series)”, “Star Trek: Insurrection”, “Star Trek: The Next Generation (TV Series).” She also hosts the Sci-fi series “Face Off (TV Series).”
  • 1977 – Brandon Slagle, Actor/writer/director of such films as “The Dark Avengers”, “The Black Dahlia Haunting”, “Dead Sea”, “House of Manson” and more.
  • 1977 – Tom Welling, who plays “Clark Kent” (a.k.a. “The Blur”) on the “Smallville” TV show. Her also starred in the 2005 remake of “The Fog.”
  • 1967 – Glen Jacobs, a.k.a. the wrestler Kane. He starred in the film “See No Evil” and “See No Evil 2.”
  • 1963 – Jet Li, who starred in “Black Mask” and “The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor.”
  • 1961 – Joan Chen, who played “Jocelyn Packard” in the series’ “twin peaks” and the film “Twin Peaks: Fire Walk With Me.”
  • 1940 – Giorgio Moroder who composed the scores for the film “Cat People” and created a new score for the silent film “Metropolis.”
  • 1912 – Sci-fi writer Alfred Elton Van Vogt. He wrote the “Null” trilogy and episodes of the TV series’ “The Twilight Zone,” “Night Gallery” and “Tales Of Tomorrow.”
  • 1910 – The late Tomoyuki Tanaka who produced films for Toho for 49 years, including just about every Godzilla film .
  • 1897 – Philip Tonge who appeared in the films, “Invisible Invaders,” the original “House of Wax” and “Macabre.”

DIED ON THIS DAY IN HORROR HISTORY – APRIL 26

  • 2009 – The “original” ghost hunter, Hans Holzer, passed away at the age of 89. He authored over 100 books, most about the paranormal. His most famous investigation was of the house at 112 Ocean Avenue in Amityville, New York, which inspired the original “Amityville Horror” Holzer wrote two books on the subject entitled “The Amityville Curse” and “The Secret of Amityville.”
  • 2005 – Michael Coles, who appeared in “Dracula A.D. 1972,” “The Satanic Rites of Dracula” and the film “Dr. Who And The Daleks,” passed away at the age of 68.
  • 2005 – Mason Adams, who appeared in the films “The Final Conflict,” “God Told Me To” and the 1995 version of “Not of this Earth,” passed away at the age of 86.
  • 1999 – Louis Peraino, who produced the original “Texas Chainsaw Massacre,” “Legacy of Satan” and “The Devil’s Rain,” passed away at the age of 59.
  • 1997 – John Beal who played the title role in the film “The Vampire,” appeared in “Amityville 3-D” and in the TV series “Dark Shadows,” passed away at the age of 87.
  • 1986 – Broderick Crawford, appeared in “Look What’s Happened to Rosemary’s Baby”, “The Phantom of Hollywood”, “Terror in the Wax Museum”, “Night Gallery (TV Series)”, “Night People.” He passed away at 74.
  • 1986 – Bessie Love who appeared in “Children of the Damned,” “Vampyres,” and “The Hunger,” passed away at the age of 87.
  • 1981 – Jim Davis who appeared in the films “Monster From Green Hell,” “Dracula vs. Frankenstein” and “Jesse James Meets Frankenstein’s Daughter,” passed away at the age of 71.
  • 1976 – Neil McCallum, had appeared in “The Lost Continent”, “The Woman Who Wouldn’t Die”, “Dr. Terror’s House of Horrors”, and more. He passed away at 46.
