Composer David Bateman has reunited again with director Harvey Lowry (Cassidy Way, A Play On Words) to compose the score for the upcoming thriller, “Asomatous” starring Jack Campbell, Whitney Rose Pynn and Kevin Sorbo. The film is about a skeptical author who moves into a rundown farmhouse with his two daughters, and then seeks out to uncover a sinister past that haunts the house and terrorizes his family.

Bateman is currently recording the film’s score and looks to wrap it up by the end of the month.

Bateman and Lowry have collaborated on a previous film, “Cassidy Way” which will be released on February 23rd, 2016. Cassidy Way is a gutwrenching thriller about a college senior, Gina Alexander, and her two friends, Colin and Mitch, who set out to make her thesis documentary film. When the footage is missing a few days before the project is due, they improvise an expedition into an abandoned fracking facility in Kern County. Mitch comes across some highly classified documents, but the doors suddenly lock and the room is filled with lethal gas.

Narrowly escaping, the students are found by Jamison Connors, who invite them back to their house where they meet their sister and mother. When Donald, the father, comes home, he insists they stay over for dinner before he takes them to their car. Donald accidentally finds the classified documents Mitch took from the bunker that contains an old newspaper clipping of his older son’s tragic death. This leads Donald to believe the three of them are involved in a conspiracy plot against him and his family, which sends him into a psychopathic killing spree.

Bateman has developed a unique approach to his scores by making offbeat and imperfect instruments.

In preparation for most of his scores, he gathers a wide range of field recordings to embody them into a hybrid sort of orchestra. Since Cassidy Way dealt with fracking, David went out to a fracking site to record various sounds which he later developed into many disturbing instruments to help mold the score for the thriller.
