Where Are They Now? : Dark Shadow’s Lisa Blake Richards

Lisa-richardsLisa Blake Richards is one of the original cast members of “Dark Shadows,” one who also appeared in a few horror movies later on in her career – which makes her more than applicable for this installment of Where Are They Now?! Lisa Blake Richards was born in May of 1941 in New York, New York. She started acting in the late 60’s with her first on screen credit just so happening to be as Sabrina Stuart on “Dark Shadows” from 1969 to 1970. Though she didn’t stay with the series until it ended in 1971, she did return for the 1970 feature film House of Dark Shadows, where she played a different role – Daphne Budd.

Following these achievements, she landed a small role as Maggie Daly in Silent Night, Bloody Night (1972) before heading back to television with a recurring role on “One Life to Live,” as Susan Barry, from 1974 to 1975. From 1973 to 1978 she worked mostly as a guest star on popular television shows including “Moving On,” “Rafferty,” “CHiPS,” “Fantasy Island” and “Man from Atlantis.” Lisa Blake Richards hopped back to cinema again while experimenting with new genres such as fantasy-comedy with Heaven Can Wait (1978) and the biographical Silent Victory: The Kitty O’Neil Story (1979).

In the early 80’s, she really found her niche and started appearing in a string of crime drama’s including Hellinger’s Law (1981), The Atlanta Child Murders (1980), Right to Kill (1985) and The Beat (1988). Finally, though, she returned to horror with a supporting role in Return (1985).

So, where is Lisa Blake Richards now?

Shortly after her run in the 80’s, Lisa started doing lesser and lesser work before she went into retirement from Hollywood beginning n 1994. She returned seven years later in 2001 with a small role in the James Dean biographical movie. Her career hasn’t been too exciting since returning, and her most recent gigs including guest spots on “Hart of Dixie” in 2012 and “Getting On” in 2015; as well as making another return to horror with a lead role in The Last Case of August T. Harrison (2015).
