Comic and science fiction actor Rick Ducommun has passed away.
The announcement was made just hours ago by Joe Dante, director of such titles as Piranha, The Twilight Zone, Gremlins and more. Joe and Rick had previously worked together on several projects. As of this reporting no cause of death has been reported. He was only 58.
Ducommun is most known for his supporting roles in The ‘Burbs (1989), Little Monsters (1989), Groundhog Day (1993), Ghost in the Machine (1993) and Scary Movie (2000); as well as his cameos in Spaceballs (1987), Gremlins 2: The New Batch (1990) and Last Action Hero (1993). He also appeared in such titles as “The Last Precinct,” Die Hard, Hunt for the Red October and Paula Shore is Dead.
