Swedish melodic metal group SOILWORK and Texas breakout band SHATTERED SUN are pleased to announce that they will join Brazilian/Arizona-local metal icons SOULFLY on an internationally-inspired North American headlining tour starting September 30th in Los Angeles, CA! The tour will also feature support from Polish technical death metal band DECAPITATED. Tickets for all shows go on sale Friday, May 8th at 10:00 am local time. Meet and greet packages will be made available as well. For more info and tickets visit www.soulfly.com.
Headliners SOULFLY will be supporting their upcoming vicious new release Archangel, which was produced by Matt Hyde (SLAYER, CHILDREN OF BODOM) and will be released on August 14th via Nuclear Blast Entertainment. “This is a great package and brutal lineup,” commented the legendary frontman Max Cavalera. “I personally am a fan of all these bands and it’s an honor to have them touring with us! See you in the pit!”
SOILWORK and SHATTERED SUN are both touring in support of recent releases, as well (SHATTERED SUN’s Hope Within Hatred, out now via Victory Records + SOILWORK’s 2013 double album, The Living Infinite via Nuclear Blast, in addition to their upcoming new music).
SOILWORK drummer Dirk Verbeuren offers up his sentiments about joining the tour, “We’re beyond excited to tour North America alongside SOULFLY, DECAPITATED and SHATTERED SUN. Is that a kick ass package or what? We’ll be debuting material off our upcoming tenth album as well, so don’t miss us when we come through your town!”
SHATTERED SUN frontman Marcos Leal adds, “We are beyond ecstatic to announce this tour with SOULFLY, DECAPITATED, and SOILWORK. Our love for these bands go back to the days we first decided to pick up instruments, from all the way back to theSepultura days with Max and the first time we picked up a copy of Natural Born Chaos by SOILWORK.” Leal continues, “Both Max and Bjorn have been huge influences in my musical career. To share the stage with them and be a part of this tour is beyond a huge honor for us. Brace yourselves for this amazing line up of metal! See you this fall.”

Ever since the band’s gold-certified debut in 1998, SOULFLY have become deadlier and more dangerous with each critically acclaimed successive release and their latest album, Savages, is no exception. Savages was produced by the world-renowned Terry Date(PANTERA, DEFTONES, SOUNDGARDEN), and is the first to feature Max Cavalera‘s 21-year-old son Zyon on drums. The artwork was created by artist Paul Stottler, who is best known for SACRED REICH’s legendary Surf Nicaragua cover. Guest vocal appearances on Savages include bass player Tony Campos, Max Cavalera‘s other son Igor Cavalera (LODY KONG), CLUTCH‘s Neil Fallon, NAPALM DEATH‘s Mitch Harris and Jamie Hanks of I DECLARE WAR.
Swedish metal eminence SOILWORK were spawned in Helsingborg, in 1995. Following two highly acclaimed albums Steel Bath Suicide (1998) and The Chainheart Machine (1999) on Listenable Records, SOILWORK joined the Nuclear Blast roster in 2001. The band’s unique blend of melodic metal developed at a staggering rate as they released a new bombshell each year; touring aggressively throughout North America, Europe, Australia, and Japan. Some of the highlights included Ozzfest alongside headlinersBLACK SABBATH and IRON MAIDEN and an arena tour with LAMB OF GOD and KILLSWITCH ENGAGE. Their latest release, The Living Infinite, is the first double album in melodic death metal history! Adventurous yet true to the band’s identity, thisJens Bogren-produced (OPETH, AMON AMARTH), twenty-song powerhouse is the ultimate proof that SOILWORK are true masters of their art and as relevant as ever!
Formed in 1996, Polish technical death metal band DECAPITATED built a reputation over the years as one of the youngest leaders of their genre. In the past two decades, DECAPITATED has released five studio albums considered to be some of the most influential international death metal releases of the 21st century. For their sixth full-length record, DECAPITATED returned to Hertz Studio (located at Bialystok in their native Poland). Under the direction of Wojtek and Slawek Wiesawski, recording Blood Mantra proved to be an extremely demanding process: they cross-bred various styles and sounds, setting the highest bar possible for their new music. The result showcased various tempos, mixing elements of death metal with grindcore and displayed more groove-laden beats plus stoner-rock vibes along with their trademarked modern metal rhythmic riffs.
Victory Records’ SHATTERED SUN are poised to dominate the metal scene. The six-piece is a remarkable example of hard work and determination, coming a long way from their industrious origins. SHATTERED SUN reflect the roots of their influences amidst their vigorous Southern backdrop, slamming together into a sound that is Hope Within Hatred, their debut album out now via Victory Records. What sets SHATTERED SUN apart from the crowd is their lyrical content in a time where it seems most heavy music is about negativity and angst. SHATTERED SUN empower with their message of hope and positivity. SHATTERED SUN just wrapped up a successful U.S. run with thrash metal leaders Testament and Exodus, which featured stops at Welcome To Rockville Festival and New England Metal & Hardcore Festival.
