Peter Benchley, the mastermind author famous for the #1 bestseller Jaws, wrote the 1994 novel White Shark which was turned into a TV miniseries in 1998 and re-titled as Creature. The film is being released for the first time ever for Blu-ray on May 19th from Olive Films.
Creature is written by Rockne S. O’Bannon (teleplay) and Peter Benchley (novel). It is directed by Stuart Gillard (Paradise, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles III).
It stars Craig T. Nelson (Poltergeist, TV’s “Coach”), Kim Catrall (The Ghost Writer, TV’s “Sex and The City”), Colm Feore (Titus, Thor), Michael Michele (Ali, How To Lose A Guy In 10 Days), Giancarlo Esposito (Do The Right Thing, Mo. Better Blues).
Plot Synopsis
When a top-secret government project — a creature that’s a hybrid of a human being and shark — breaks free of its environment and eventually finds its way into the sea, no one is safe. Reeking havoc and terror on a small coastal community, its falls to marine biologist Dr. Chase (Craig T. Nelson, TV’s Coach) and Dr. Macy (Kim Cattrall, TV’s “Sex and The City”) to pursue, capture or kill the creature.
