The zombie video game film, Dead Rising: Watchtower is set to air exclusively on Crackle on March 27th, 2015 and then will expand to other home video outlets later on. The film based on the highly popular Capcom video game has released the first official trailer which you can check out below.
Dead Rising: Watchtower is directed by Zach Lipovsky, who recently helmed Leprechaun: Origins for WWE Films. It will be executive produced by Lorenzo di Bonaventura.
Tim Carter wrote the script and will produce with Tomas Harlan via their Contradiction Films banner.
Sony’s Crackle will give the 90-minute feature, directed by Zach Lipovsky, an exclusive digital release in the U.S. before the film receives a multi-platform release on SVOD, VOD, DVD, and TV.
The film stars Jesse Metcalfe (Dallas, Desperate Housewives), Meghan Ory (Once Upon a Time, True Justice), Rob Riggle (Modern Family), Virginia Madsen (Candyman, Witches of East End), Dennis Haysbert (24, Allstate Commercials), Keegan Connor Tracy (Bates Motel, Once Upon a Time).
Plot Synopsis
Set during an epic zombie outbreak that a mandatory government vaccine failed to stop, a group of survivors must evade infection while hunting down the root of the epidemic, which leads back to a government conspiracy. “Dead Rising” debuted on the Xbox 360 console in 2006 and has since spawned a video game franchise that has sold more than 6.5 million copies worldwide.
