Showtime Network subscribers are in for a real treat this New Year’s Day as they’re inviting you to feel dreadful with a Penny Dreadful marathon of Season one. The festivities begin at 12 Noon Eastern on New Year’s Day, so have a dreadful New Year on behalf of Showtime and Penny Dreadful. You can also check out a teaser for Season 2 down below.
Penny Dreadful is a powerfully written saga filled with dark mystery and suspense. It lives in a demimonde — a half world between reality and the supernatural — where personal demons from the past can be stronger than vampires, evil spirits and immortal beasts.
Some of literature’s most terrifying figures, including Dr. Frankenstein and his Creature, Dorian Gray, and iconic figures from the novel Dracula are lurking in the darkest corners of the city. They are joined by a core of original characters in a new narrative filled with alienation and dread.

Join Us For A New Year’s Day Marathon
Greetings from the Demimonde!
On New Year’s Day a socialized marathon of Penny Dreadful Season 1 will begin airing at 12PM ET/PT on SHO2. A curated selection of some of our favorite fan tweets will appear at the bottom of the TV screen, making it an all-new viewing experience. Additionally, @SHO_Penny will be live tweeting the east coast feed using the hashtag #FeelingDreadful. It will be a fun-filled day with giveaways and more, so be sure to join us starting at 12PM ET.
