A Lost Nightmare Over 10 Years in the Making—Now It’s Coming for You!

After more than a decade in the shadows, the Southern horror legend BLOODY BONES is finally breaking free. Indie filmmaker Bobby Canipe Jr. and Astronomic Studios (Mom n Pop: The Indie Video Store Boom of the 80s/90s, Grandma, Pigshit) have officially launched the Indiegogo campaign to complete their long-awaited horror feature—an eerie, blood-soaked throwback to VHS-era terror.
To mark the occasion, the first-look teaser is now live, offering a chilling glimpse into the film’s haunting atmosphere, ominous locations, and core cast—but keeping the skinless nightmare that is Bloody Bones hidden… for now. The campaign, running now through April 30th, aims to raise $8,000 to fund the film’s final action-packed, gore-filled sequences.
A Horror Legend Comes to Life
Based on an unsettling piece of Southern folklore, Bloody Bones follows Emily, a woman haunted by a childhood legend she never truly believed—until it comes clawing its way into reality. Set against atmospheric, isolated locations across the Carolinas, the film blends creeping dread with explosive, practical-effects-driven carnage, staying true to the golden age of indie horror.
Spearheading the film’s brutal FX and creature design is Marcus Koch (100 Tears, American Guinea Pig), ensuring that Bloody Bones delivers on gory, handcrafted terror.
10 Years of Darkness—Now Unleashed
The journey of Bloody Bones began in 2012 with an early teaser, but the film remained buried—until now. Over a decade later, it’s clawing its way into existence. This resurrection is more than just a film; it’s the realization of a decade-long passion project that fans of indie horror, folklore-based nightmares, and VHS-era splatter won’t want to miss.
