SPOOKY ANIMATED FEATURE NIGHT OF THE ZOOPOCALYPSE BOUGHT BY VIVA FOR U.S. AHEAD OF SITGES PREMIERE

Distributed by Viva Pictures, the all-new spooky family comedy, NIGHT OF THE ZOOPOCALYPSE, features the voices of Emmy© nominated David Harbour (Stranger Things, Suicide Squad, Thunderbolts), Emmy© nominated Scott Thompson (The Kids In The Hall, The Pacifier), Paul Sun-Hyung Lee (The Mandalorian, Avatar: The Last Airbender) and Gabbi Kosmidis (Unicorn Academy, Fellow Travelers) and will be released only in theaters across North America on March 7, 2025. Elevation Pictures will distribute the film theatrically in Canada.

After a meteor unleashes a virus that turns zoo animals into mutants, a mountain lion (David Harbour) and wolf (Gabbi Kosmidis) lead a team of surviving animals to stop the virus and rescue their zoo.

Inspired by a concept from best-selling genre author Clive Barker (“The Thief of Always”), NIGHT OF THE ZOOPOCALYPSE is directed by veteran animators Ricardo Curtis (The Incredibles, The Angry Birds Movie, The Iron Giant) and Rodrigo Perez-Castro (The Book of Life, Ice Age: Collision Course, Ferdinand). Curtis co-founded and Perez-Castro served as head of creative development at House of Cool, which has become the top animation pre-production studio in the world helping to bring to life films like Paw Patrol, The Peanuts Movie, Despicable Me, and the Ice Age films as well as series like He-Man, Trollhunters and the How to Train Your Dragon series. The film is produced by Steven Hoban’s Copperheart Entertainment and co-produced by Charades Productions, U Media and IDL Films, in association with House of Cool.

The film will premiere at the renowned Sitges Film Festival on October 6th. “We’re so excited to be having the world premiere of Night of the Zoopocalypse at the Sitges Fantastic Film Festival. It’s the perfect place to unleash our unusual creatures to thrill and entertain family audiences across the globe,” said Directors Perez-Castro and Curtis.

Laura Prieto, Vice President of Acquisitions at VIVA PICTURES brokered the deal, stating “We’re thrilled to bring Night of the Zoopocalypse to family audiences everywhere. It’s a perfect mix of spooky, fun, and adventure, and the ideal film for families to experience together at the movie theater.”

Charades and Anton are handling international sales in the rest of the world.
