VILLAGE OF DOOM “Ushimitsu no mura” Comes to Blu-ray and DVD October 22, 2024 from Unearthed Films

VILLAGE OF DOOM “Ushimitsu no mura” piles sex, violence and inbreeding on top of a horrific true story of war and pestilence. In the vein of the Unearthed Films you know and love, here comes more depravity just in time for All Hallows Eve… October 22, 2024 on blu-ray and DVD.

Cult director, Noboru Tanaka’s (Rape and Death of a Housewife) VILLAGE OF DOOM is a classic Japanese true crime story, Village of Doom is a chilling reenactment of the infamous Tsuyama Massacre, a revenge killing spree in the rural village of Kamo near Tsuyama in Okayama Prefecture. Mutsuo Toi, an emotionally distraught 21-year-old man with tuberculosis who had been ostracized by his fellow villagers, went on a violent killing spree that took the lives of 30 people, including his own grandmother, where he used a shotgun, Japanese sword and an axe. It remains the deadliest mass murder spree in Japanese history.
