Dark Red Film Festival Announces 2024 Program

The Dark Red Film Festival, New Mexico’s premier international horror film festival, is set to return to Albuquerque from October 25-27, 2024. Recognized as one of Movie Maker Magazine’s top 5 “Best Places to Live and Work as a MovieMaker” for the last six years, Albuquerque provides a dynamic backdrop for this celebration of independent horror cinema.

Recommended as one of New York Film Academy’s “Top Film Festivals to Submit To,” Dark Red Film Festival is dedicated to elevating the horror genre. Crafted by filmmakers, the festival will unite a vibrant community of filmmakers and horror enthusiasts over the course of three days at two iconic Albuquerque venues. The event kicks off at The National Hispanic Cultural Center on October 25-26, before concluding its final day at the iconic Guild Cinema on October 27.

Attendees can look forward to a diverse and haunting selection of over 70 films, ranging from eerie and bizarre to spine-chilling, embodying the essence of indie horror. The festival will also shine a spotlight on the local talent of New Mexico, with over 20 films from New Mexico filmmakers featured throughout the program.

In addition to screenings, the festival will host networking events to foster collaboration and connection among industry professionals and emerging horror filmmakers. This year’s program is set to offer an unforgettable experience for horror lovers and creators alike.
