Who ya gonna call when the most dangerous person in the room is a Ghostbuster?
Fan films are insanely popular right now because it gives viewers another taste of their favorite titles under the leadership of independent directors. The horror genre is especially well-developed in this area, and now the team at Arcade Productions is following in the footsteps of Winnie the Pooh and Mickey Mouse by taking a classic kid and young adults movie and perverting the Hell out of it. Welcome to Ghostbuster Down.
Synopsis: Stanley Gutierrez and Renee Watson are two former friends who are both affected by the death of their mutual childhood friend Gus Richardson. While paying tribute to him, they stumble upon the lifeless body of Jim Horowitz, a seasoned Ghostbuster and former army veteran whose death is linked to a malevolent Class Seven demonic entity he was hunting alone. In a terrifying escalation of events, Jim’s corpse becomes possessed by the very same demon he was hunting. Now Stanley, Renee and her surviving group of friends must escape to save their lives and avoid becoming victims of the demon’s sick game while armed with dangerous Ghostbusting equipment.
Ghostbuster Down is written, directed and produced by Christian Cordes. Raymond Washington and Ryan Scott also wrote this adventure, with Washington serving as producer and Scott working as production designer. Further crew and cast announcements are currently pending, especially as Arcade Productions waits on the success of its Indiegogo campaign.
Destined to become a five-part series, Ghostbuster Down has 19 days left of its crowd fundraiser and still has about $18,000 left to raise. Let me just say, I’ve seen a lot of worse titles ask for 5x the amount of this one and get their money, so I need you all to come out of the woodwork to support this production. By donating to the campaign, you can earn yourself early access to the episodes, special thanks credit, producer credits and even a small appearance in the show.
Please watch the pitch video below, which features a small glimpse into the world Cordes, Washington and Scott are hoping to create… or recreate. Then, consider donating to the Indiegogo campaign while there’s still time!
