Brian Patrick Butler’s “Friend of the World” is now available on Cineverse

The surreal body horror comedy “Friend of the World,” which premiered at Oceanside International Film Festival, has been picked up by Cineverse, formerly known as Cinedigm. The story follows Diane, a young, black experimental filmmaker, whose world is ripped away from her and everyone she has ever known. After surviving a mass extinction event, she runs into Gore — a white, war-torn general who is twice her age — and seems to know more about what is happening on the planet than he cares to say. As Diane and Gore converse, they inspect the underground corridors of obscure circumstances where strange figures lurk.

Now available on Cineverse, the film is arranged like a “Black Mirror” or “Twilight Zone” episode – with similar themes to “10 Cloverfield Lane” and “The Lighthouse.”
