Jeremy London starrer Open is shaping up to be one of the most unique film releases of the next twelve months with it’s profusion of thrills, drama and music.
In the film, co-written, directed and co-starring Miles Doleac (Renfield, Demons, Demigod), a woman in a troubled marriage falls for a former TV star and teen heartthrob, who’s fallen from industry favor, all the while having nagging (and empowering) hallucinations about fronting an 80’s New Wave band.A wom
Mallrats’ London, who plays one of the film’s leads, the aforementioned former teen heartthrob, “Erik LeRoux”, says: “In my whole career, I’ve rarely been as excited to be part of a film. Open is just so unique. It’s like our own Rocky Horror Picture Show.”
Doleac says “Open is an affair of the heart. We just went for it and left it all on the field. The songs were so much fun. In many respects, this film is the truest expression of who I am (or aspire to be) as a filmmaker of anything I’ve made.”

The script has been written by Doleac and frequent collaborator, Lindsay Anne Williams, with original songs being written by Williams, Doleac Oliver Hofer and Clifton Hyde.
Combining the dark humor and magical realism of “Hedwig and the Angry Inch,” “Scott Pilgrim Versus the World,” and “Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind” with the poignant deep-dive into the nature of romantic and familial relationships of “A Marriage Story” or the “Before” trilogy, “Open” invites us to ask who we are when no one’s looking, to reevaluate the nature of family, and to never, ever quit our daydreams.
The producers are currently in discussions with several distribution outlets and hope to release the film by the end of the year.
