After over a year of delays, Gremlins: Secrets of the Mogwai is moving from Cartoon Network to HBO Max and is slated to premiere next month!

The series will focus on how 10-year-old Sam Wing met the young Mogwai called Gizmo. Along with a teenage street thief named Elle, Sam and Gizmo take a perilous journey through the Chinese countryside, encountering, and sometimes battling, colorful monsters and spirits from Chinese folklore. On their quest to return Gizmo to his family and uncover a legendary treasure, they are pursued by a power-hungry industrialist and his growing army of evil Gremlins.
An animated prequel series set in the 1920’s, Secrets of Mogwai will find main characters voiced by Izaac Wang, Ming-Na Wen, B.D. Wong, James Hong and Matthew Rhys. Zach Galligan is also confirmed to reprise his role as Billy Peltzer… somehow.
Sandra Oh, Randall Park and George Takei have also lent their voices to the series.
Gremlins: Secrets of the Mogwai premieres May 23, 2023 on HBO Max.
