I’m bringing back my Sickly Talented column with one of the few creators I follow on Instagram. Ari Savonen is an award winning special effects artist, writer/director, and actor that specializes in all things bizarre and brutal. Ari, hailing all the way from Finland, has produced a number of his own projects including Inmind Videozone, Zombie Walk Video Diary and upcoming flick – Tourist from Outer Space.
As a special effects master, he’s worked behind-the-scenes on 50 titles including Dark End of the Rainbow, Homecoming, Goremageddon 2, one of my favorite films of last year – Bunny the Killer Thing and upcoming flick – Backwood Madness. Combining burn and battered effects with alien and Silent Hill themed art, Mr. Savonen is one of the sickest creators out there!
