Short of the Week: “Drudge” (2013)

It’s like if Batman was a slasher villain.

Hello there fellow mavens of mayhem, it’s Thakgore and today I bring you one of the coolest horror shorts I’ve ever seen,  Kheireddine El-Helou’s “Drudge”. “Drudge” won several awards when it made the rounds in the film festival circuit back in 2014 and I think it definitely deserved all the accolades it received.

Director Kheireddine El-Helou went all out crafting something special here going so far as to use his engineering skills to make the fully functional pneumatic glove used by the killer in the short. Hell, he nearly lost an eye doing it! So check out this labor of love and tell me that you DON’T want to see this one made into a full fledged film. Go on, I dare ya’.

Thakgore

Horror fan since childhood. Also, a stay at home Dad, layabout and general rapscallion. Purveyor of all things diabolical, devious and dire as well as loquacious lover of ludicrous alliteration and bold balladeer of bellicose buffoonery. Master of the run-on sentence.
