Chicago! Meet Fred “The Hammer” Williamson at Two Cult Classic Screenings

Fred “The Hammer” Williamson is appearing at the Hollywood Palms this March 25th and 26th

Genre fans in the Chicagoland area have a chance to meet one of the icons of cult cinema later this month. Fred “The Hammer” Williamson will be appearing at one of the coolest theaters in the area, the Hollywood Palms, in Naperville, IL on Saturday, March 25th and Sunday, March 26th. Hammer will be introducing screenings of FROM DUSK TILL DAWN and a personal favorite of mine, ORIGINAL GANGSTAS. For more information, take a look at the press release.

Hollywood Palms Cinema in Naperville has always sought to bring its guests closer to the movies, with its wall-to-wall tributes to the history of cinema, classic feature films on the big screen, and celebrity appearances where fans can meet their screen heroes. Now Hollywood Palms is proud to present a true legend of action cinema, Fred “The Hammer” Williamson! Fred Williamson will appear LIVE and IN PERSON on Saturday, March 25 and Sunday, March 26 at Hollywood Palms.

Williamson has appeared in over eighty films in over five decades of show business, leaving his football career behind to become an actor. After screen appearances in TV’s Julia, M*A*S*H and more, he soon established himself as a leading man in such action classics as Black Caesar, Hell Up In Harlem, Bucktown, Three The Hard Way, and beyond. Considered a trailblazer in film, often writing and directing his own features to counter the stereotypical roles Hollywood would offer, Williamson’s movies continue to influence modern filmmakers, eager to pay tribute to his work (Quentin Tarantino, whose Django Unchained was heavily influenced by Williamson’s films, appeared with the man himself in From Dusk Till Dawn). Today Williamson meets his longtime devotees from around the globe while promoting the service Brown Sugar, a streaming channel focused on African-American-led films of the 1970s, introducing his classic movies to a new generation of fans.

Hollywood Palms celebrates Fred Williamson’s career with screenings of the action horror classic From Dusk Till Dawn, and the Chicago-and-Indiana-shot Original Gangstas, the film that reunited him with fellow ’70s stars Pam Grier and Jim Brown. Williamson is currently working on the followup, Old School Gangstas, which will bring back even more acting legends.

Fred will introduce each film and discuss the making of the movies in Q&As – he has a million stories that fans will not want to miss! Williamson will also be meeting his fans before the movies in the Hollywood Palms lobby to sign autographs and take photos.

Tickets are now on sale for From Dusk Till Dawn and Original Gangstas at the Hollywood Palms box office and HollywoodPalms.com. For more details, fans can check out HollywoodPalms.com/Hammer for movie schedules, autograph prices and more.
