1. A fourth Lost Boys movie was in the works, but the death of Corey Haim – who was to co-star – and Warner Premiere going bankrupt ended those plans.

2. Scream 4 was supposed to be the start of a new trilogy, but after it failed to recoup its budget in the US, the latter films were cancelled and “Scream: The TV Series” was greenlit instead.

3. Halloween 9 was in development, as proven in documentary Halloween: 25 Years of Terror; however, the death of Moustapha Akkad in a terrorist attack and other reasons pushed the franchise into the hands of Rob Zombie.

4. The When A Stranger Calls remake almost saw a sequel, When A Stranger Returns, that was set to star Hayden Panettiere; however, Screen Gems cancelled it.

5. Alfred Hitchcock almost got a prequel to 1943’s Shadow of Doubt, which was to be titled Frenzy, but studio MCA found the style and content to be too extreme for audiences at the time.

6. Rumor has it we were supposed to see Freddy vs. Jason vs. Ash following the massive success of the first mash-up in 2003. The idea was canned, but at least we saw what was to come in a comic book adaption.

7. Another rumor saw us getting a sequel to Sorority Row, with some sources saying the script was already finalized. In a group chat, however, Briana Evigan confirmed the movie was definitely not happening.

8. The Wrong Turn franchise was supposed to continue past 2014’s Last Resort until a law suit shut down further plans for a seventh movie.

9. Cloverfield 2 was in development for years until producers decided to make an “expanded universe” and went with 10 Cloverfield Lane instead.

10. Kevin Tenney was returning to produce Night of the Demons: After Party, however, the movie was scrapped after the production failed to receive a a decent budget.
