The Windmill Massacre has been on a… whirlwind of success lately. Since hitting the film festival circuit in May, the film described as “Friday the 13th meets Jeepers Creepers,” has been a selection in many important showcases, with next month’s Frightfest probably being the most important. If that wasn’t enough, the film has already been picked up for distribution this Fall, with Kaleidoscope Home Entertainment and XLrator Media releasing it in The UK and The United States, respectively.

Not so bad for a horror film shot in The Netherlands, huh?

The Windmill Massacre tells the story of Jennifer, “an Australian girl on the run from her past who washes up in Amsterdam. In a desperate attempt to stay one step ahead of the authorities, she joins a coach-load of tourists embarking on a tour of Holland’s world famous windmills. When the bus breaks down in the middle of nowhere, she and the other tourists are forced to seek shelter in a disused shed beside a sinister windmill where, legend has it, a Devil-worshiping miller once ground the bones of locals instead of grain. As members of the group start to disappear, Jennifer learns that they all have something in common – a shared secret that seems to mark them all for doom.”

Directed by Nick Jongerius, the film stars Charlotte Beaumont (“EastEnders,” Jupiter Ascending), Noah Taylor (“Game of Thrones,” Lawless), Patrick Baladi (“Mistresses,” “The Office”), Ben Batt, Fiona Hampton and Adam Thomas Wright. Daniel Koefoed (Frankenstein’s Army) and Todd Slater (Chain Letter) served as producers.
