Japan’s Toho Pictures recently uploaded the second and final trailer for Godzilla Resurgence (Shin Gojira). The film officially opens in Japanese theaters on July 29th, 2016. You can check out the trailer and a few TV spots down below.
Toho had a press conference yesterday, announcing the release of Godzilla Resurgence in 100 foreign territories, which is the largest release Toho has ever had. Unfortunately no dates were given for a North American release but that may be coming shortly! As soon as we get any information on when the film will open in America, we will definitely let you know.
Godzilla Resurgence (Shin Gojira) will be the 29th film in the Toho Godzilla series. It is co-directed by Hideaki Anno (Evangelion) and Shinji Higuchi (Attack On Titan). The film was also written by Hideaki Anno.
The film stars Satomi Ishihara, Hiroki Hasegawa, Yutaka Takenouchi, Nicolas Reillabahc, Jean Laurent Oibur.
Plot Synopsis
Godzilla Resurgence takes place in modern-day Japan, which has suffered an attack by the Big G. The United States soon gets involved in the chaos to help the Land of the Rising Sun secure its existence.
A cause unknown, an accident has occurred in the tunnels of the Tokyo Bay Aqua Line, causing an emergency cabinet meeting to convene. Immediately afterwards, a huge creature appears, destroying town after town with its landing reaching the capital. The mysterious giant organism named “Godzilla.”
