As confirmed by his daughter and by his former co-star Edgar Vivar, actor Rubén Aguirre passed away this morning, Friday, June 17, at his home in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. Aguirre was noticeably sick throughout the month of May and early June, but was allowed to return home to pass in peace due to complications stemming from pneumonia. He was 82-years-old, having just passed this milestone on Wednesday.
Known throughout Mexico and parts of America for his roles in comedies, romance movies and westerns such as “The Eighth Chavo” and “Chespirito,” Aguirre’s biggest claim to fame is from starring in “The Chapulin Colorado” from 1973 to 1978. Considering this is a horror website, he is also known to genre fans for his supporting roles in Santo & Blue Demon vs. Doctor Frankenstein (1974), Taste of Blood (1980), This Vampire is Shot (1991) and The Vampire Show (2004).
All of us here at HorrorSociety.com send our condolences to his family, friends and fans.
