Epic Pictures, the studio that brought us Tales Of Halloween and JeruZalem have begun production on their next genre effort, Day Of Reckoning. It is described as an action fantasy but it sounds horror-ish to me. The story says that after a global disaster, millions of demon-like creatures crawled up from inside the earth to wreak havoc. The film is from the writer of Big Ass Spider, Gregory Gieras and stars Jackson Hurst & Heather McComb.
Day Of Reckoning is written by Gregory Gieras and directed by Joel Novoa.
The cast includes Jackson Hurst (Drop Dead Diva) and Heather McComb (Ray Donovan) in addition to Jay Jay Warren, Hana Hayes (The Grinder), Raymond Barry (Justified, The 100), Barbara Crampton (We Are Still Here), Nick Gomez (The Walking Dead) and Randy Vasquez (Beverly Hills Cop). Joel Novoa (God’s Slave) helms the film.
The story begins fifteen years in the past when the world suffered a horrific global disaster when millions of demon-like creatures ascended from the bowels of the earth, swarming the entire planet, and feasting on mankind for one full day. This event became known as the Day of Reckoning. The movie follows DAVID SHEPPARD, played by Jackson Hurst, a less-than-perfect husband and father as he tries to save his broken family from the return of the demon-creatures in modern day Los Angeles.
Epic Pictures holds worldwide sales and distribution rights to the film. Its recent releases include Jeruzalem and Nina Forever.
We’ll be keeping an eye on this one and will bring you any news as it develops!
