In this week’s essay, Ryan celebrated the 20th anniversary of Resident Evil by looking at just how the original game from 1996 set a standard for video game cinematography for the horror games that followed.

The following video may contain minor spoilers as it explores key scenes in the opening moments of Resident Evil whilst also drawing comparisons to Alfred Hitchcock’s Psycho and The Birds, as well as Halloween and Black Christmas.
