For more than a decade, fan fiction writers have yearned for a “Buffy” and “Charmed” crossover. Alas, this is not the meeting we had in mind, but upcoming scifi-thriller Jessica Frost will star one major player from each universe.
Brian Krause and Kristy Swanson have officially been announced as lead cast in Jessica Frost, currently in pre-production through Jackfruit Studios and director Runar Berntsen. Based on the script by Cristo M. Sanchez, Jessica Frost will follow the story of a young woman searching for the origins of her past when she is suddenly thrown into a turbulent journey through the desert when a time-traveling psychopath begins hunting her. Definitely sounds like The Hitcher with a scifi twist. I’m on board!
Brian Krause has been tapped to play the role of Mace, with Krause being most known for playing Leo in 145 episodes of “Charmed” as well as movies Return to the Cabin by the Lake, Sleepwalkers and Return to the Blue Lagoon. Kristy Swanson will be playing the role of Audrey, with Swanson being most known for playing the original Buffy Summers in 1992’s Buffy the Vampire Slayer as well as Big Daddy, Dude Where’s My Car?, Ferris Bueller’s Day Off and Flowers in the Attic.
Other cast members include Corbin Bernsen (“LA Law”), Anthony Quinlan (“Hollyoaks”), Rick Ravanello (“Weeds”), Michael Buscemi (“Nurse Jackie”), Scott Michael Campbell (“Longmire”) and Marisa Saks (“Millionaire Matchmaker”).
Jessica Frost has an anticipated release scheduled for early 2017.
