  • 1976 – Brittany Daniel who appeared in “Club Dread” and “The Hamiltons.”
  • 1975 – Natalie Zea, has appeared in “The Following (TV Series)” and “Under the Dome (TV Series).”
  • 1975 – Gina Holden who appeared in the films “Final Destination 3,” “Aliens vs Predators: Requiem” and starred in the TV series “Blood Ties.”
  • 1973 – Ashley Lynn Caputo, has appeared in “Death-Scort Service”, “Slasher Weekend”, “American Guinea Pig: Bouquet of Guts and Gore”, “Amerikan Holokaust”, “Joe Vampire.”
  • 1964 – Rob Lowe, who starred in the film “Stir of Echoes: The Homecoming,” the TV mini-series “The Stand” and the 2004 TV mini-series version of “Salem’s Lot.”
  • 1957 – Laurene Landon, appeared in “Full Moon High”, “The Stuff”, “It’s Alive III: Island of the Alive”, “Maniac Cop”, “Maniac Cop 2″, “Masters of Horror (TV Series).”
  • 1955 – Gary Sinise, co-starred in the TV mini series “The Stand” and the films “Mission to Mars,” “Jack the Bear,” “The Green Mile” and “The Forgotten.”
  • 1954 – Lesley-Anne Down, who appeared in the films “Countess Dracula,” “From Beyond the Grave” and “The 13th Child: Legend of the Jersey Devil.”
  • 1951 – Kurt Russell, who starred in the films “Escape From New York,” “Escape From L.A.,” “Stargate,”the 1982 remake of “The Thing” and “Death Proof.”
  • 1949 – Patrick Duffy, who besides playing “Bobby Ewing” on the prime time soap opera “Dallas,” portrayed the title role on the series “The Man From Atlantis.”
  • 1923 – Eiji Funakoshi, who appeared in the films “Gamera” and “Gamera vs. Gurion.”
  • 1908 – The “Robotrix” of “Metropolis,” Brigitte Helm .

DIED ON THIS DAY IN HORROR HISTORY – MARCH 17

  • 2011 – Michael Gough, wonderful character actor who appeared in numerous film and TV roles including “Horror of Dracula”, “Horrors of the Black Museum”, “Konga”, “The Phantom of the Opera”, “Black Zoo”, “Dr. Terror’s House of Horrors”, “The Skull” and many more.
  • 2007 – William N Panzer, who was writer/producer for the “Highlander” series, films and the animated series, as well as the film “Cutting Class,” passed away at the age of 64.
  • 2007 – Director Freddie Francis, who directed the films “Dr. Terror’s House Of Horrors,” The Evil Of Frankenstein,” “Tales from The Crypt” (the big screen version from 1972) to name a few, passed away at the age of 89.
  • 2005 – Sci-fi novelist Andre Norton, who wrote the novel “The Beast Master,” passed away at the age of 93.
  • 1993 – Skip Young, who appeared in the 1957 version of “Earth vs. the Spider” and “Lobster Man From Mars,” passed away at the age of 63.
  • 1992 – Jack Arnold, director of the films “The Creature From the Black Lagoon,” “It Came From Outer Space,” “The Incredible Shrinking Man” and “Tarantula,” passed away at the age of 75.
  • 1989 – Merritt Butrick, who appeared in “Death Spa”, “From the Dead of Night”, “Fright Night Part 2”, “Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan” and more. He passed away at the young age of 29 from AIDS.
