Shipwrecked Comedy is a literary YouTube channel with over 15k subscribers, a podcast and now a crowdfunding campaign for their next 10 part series.
In “Edgar Allan Poe’s Murder Mystery Dinner Party”, or “Poe Party” for short, Edgar Allan Poe hosts a murder mystery party and invites all of his famous author friends–Charlotte Brontë, HG Wells, Ernest Hemingway, etc–in order to woo the lovely Annabel Lee. Unfortunately, things take an unexpected turn when people actually start dying. It’s “Clue”meets Midnight in Paris”, and there’s something for every literature lover out there among all the suspense and surprises.
The kickstarter campaign raised nearly $14,000 in the first day and was over halfway funded in less than a week. They’ve been written up by Nerdist and Tubefilter and GeekyNews. Shipwrecked has assembled an incredible cast–Joey Richter (StarKid) as Hemingway, Ashley Clements (The Lizzie Bennet Diaries) as Brontë, Lauren Lopez (StarKid) as George Eliot, Melissa Hunter as Mary Shelley (Adult Wednesday Addams) among others–and we will be continuing to release more well-known cast members as we move forward in the campaign.
