All Hallows’ Eve 2 is the upcoming horror anthology starring Andrea Monier. Andrea stars in the wraparound segment of the film as a woman being terrorized by “The Trixter”, a pumpkin faced killer that sets up the rest of the short film segments of the movie.
I recently had the opportunity to chat with Andrea as she was promoting the film.
Horror Society: I wanted to thank you for taking a few minutes out to speak with me about the film.
Andrea Monier: Of course, I appreciate you making time as well. Thank you.
Horror Society: Andrea, you star in All Hallows’ Eve 2 in the wraparound story (the only original segment in the film) as the unnamed woman terrorized by The Trixter, the pumpkin faced killer in that segment. What can you tell me about your shoot for the wraparound segment?
Andrea Monier: I’ve been lucky enough to work with these filmmakers for some time and I’ve worked on a couple of horror movies with them. I always find they are the most fun shoots. Everybody is in good spirits and there’s nothing better. We had a blast. I think the only thing difficult for me was the night shoot, you know being able to stay awake and act scared for the movie. At the same time, we had a blast. All of us have worked together before – the crew – and so getting together with family and having some fun.
Horror Society: That sounds awesome. The wraparound segment is from writer/producer/director Jesse Baget. Is it nice to work with a director that you’re already familiar with that knows your strengths as an actress?
Andrea Monier: Yes. Absolutely. Jesse and I have worked together before, he is a dear friend. I trust him tremendously. When I go and arrive on set, I’m there to do what I can to play my part.
Horror Society: Nice. Since you’ve worked together, is that how you initially became involved in All Hallows’ Eve 2?
Andrea Monier: Yeah, I worked on a couple of other movies with the team and they thought I would be perfect for this role. They just needed someone who could convey being a vulnerable, strong woman. When you have an opportunity as an actor to play a part like this, it’s good.
Horror Society: Okay. How long did it take to shoot your wraparound segment for the film?
Andrea Monier: It really wasn’t that long of a shoot because as you know it’s an anthology movie so I would say it was about a two day shoot.
Horror Society: Interesting. Have you seen the final film?
Andrea Monier: I have seen it. I really liked watching the other shorts in the film.
Horror Society: Yes, most of them were pretty good. I wanted to ask in going through the credits. Are you related to Damien Monier, the actor who played The Trixter in your segment?
Andrea Monier: Yeah. He’s my cousin. He’s another part of our group of filmmakers. He had a lot of fun too. We were goofing around on set a lot.
Horror Society: Well that must be nice to have a member of the family working with you.
Andrea Monier: Yeah, we had a blast.
Horror Society: Is there anything you have coming up that you would like to talk about in the near future?
Andrea Monier: Yeah. I’m actually a filmmaker myself so I’m creating a lot more opportunities for myself as an actor, also as a filmmaker/producer. We have more horror anthologies we’re going to be doing, which I’m really excited about. I’m doing a dark comedy that I’m shooting next month. I’m a supporting character that I’m really excited about. I’m writing some things and then I might have a sequel for Day of the Mummy as well.
Horror Society: Oh nice. You had mentioned some more anthologies. Would that be working with Jesse (Baget) again?
Andrea Monier: Yes, Jesse and I have a couple of really exciting anthologies that were doing.
Horror Society: That’s great to hear. I wanted to thank you for speaking with me about your film All Hallows’ Eve 2. I enjoyed the film and thought you did a great job in it.
