This is… odd. Sure, it doesn’t relate to horror films – unless I use this to plug Brandon Slagle’s House of Manson, which is coming to DVD in the UK on January 4th – but it does have something to do with one of the worst and most well known mass murders in American history.

As I’m sure many of you know, Charles Manson is directly responsible for the murder of two people as well as being the mastermind behind the Sharon Tate Murders; when members of the Manson Family cult broke into her home and murdered her at eight and a half months pregnant along with four of her friends and work associates. The cult also murdered at least two people before the massacre in August 1969. Manson is currently serving nine concurrent life in prison sentences in Corcoran, California.
Sharon Tate was once hailed as the next “it girl” in Hollywood. She was a model and cover girl that transitioned to acting with small television roles. Eventually she came to stardom due to her roles in Eye of the Devil, Valley of the Dolls and The Fearless Vampire Killers.
Lindsay Lohan is a former teen queen most known for her roles in The Parent Trap, Freaky Friday, Mean Girls and Herbie Fully Loaded. After years of hard partying, criminal arrests and becoming a tabloid pariah ruined her career in Hollywood, Lohan has since retreated to a residence in the UK where she explores business ventures in fashion and restaurant real estate. But that doesn’t mean she’s done causing a stir.
Yesterday, Thursday, November 12th, Lohan posted a photo to Instragram featuring herself in a floral 1960’s inspired get-up with the caption, “I love Sharon Tate.” Thursday, not so coincidentally, was also the 81st birthday of Charles Manson.
Having done a little snooping, I can’t find any photos of Sharon Tate where her outfit matches that of Lindsay Lohan. I, however, don’t believe for a second that this is a matter of coincidence; as Lohan is known for causing trouble and ruffling feathers. And it seems that is the case once again because the tabloids are going crazy and almost all of the 700+ comments on the photo are negative.
Way to keep it classy, Li-Lo.
