1977 – British author Dennis Wheatley, who’s novels were turned into such films as “The Lost Continent”, “The Devil Rides Out”, “To The Devil A Daughter”, “The Haunted Airman” and more. He passed away at the age of 80.
1968 – Gerald Mohr who starred in the film “The Angry Red Planet” and was the voice of “Reed Richards” in the 1960 cartoon “The Fantastic Four,” passed away at the age of 54.
1962 – Special effects whiz and father to “King Kong,” Willis O’Brien, passed away at the age of 76.
