  • 1991 – Irwin Allen, was a writer/producer/director and creator of many films & TV shows such as “Lost in Space (TV Series)”, “Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea (TV Series)”, “The Time Tunnel (TV Series)”, “Land of the Giants (TV Series)”, “The Poseidon Adventure”, “The Swarm” and more. He passed away at the age of 75.
  • 1986 – Voice over master Paul Frees, passed away at the age of 66. Some samples of his incredible body of work include the cartoons “Spider-man,” “The Fantastic Four,” “Frankenstein Jr.,” and the films “The Abominable Dr. Phibes,” where he sang “The Dark Strutters’ Ball,” “King Kong Escapes” where he overdubbed the voice of the villain “Dr. Who,” and the voice of the “Talking Rings” in the original “Time Machine.” He also provided the voices of John Lennon and George Harrison in the 1965 “Beatles” cartoon.
  • 1981 – Comic artist and writer Wally Wood, passed away at the age of 54.
