Atlanta Zombie Apocalypse began as a haunted house designed by filmmakers who wanted to create a live action, interactive show where the customers star in their own zombie movie. With press from The New York Times, USA Today, NBC, BBC, Fangoria and a #2 national rating from The Weather Channel, the AZA Haunted House was a big success.
In their fifth and final year of the show, creators Jonathan Rej (Authority Films, Adult Swim) and Shane Morton (Your Pretty Face is Going to Hell, Dear God No) took the live show and brought it to the screen. Atlanta Zombie Apocalypse: The Movie was an instant hit around the country in film festivals winning The Atlanta Film Festival’s Audience Award, Dragon Con’s Best Horror Film award, and Fright Night Film Fest’s Honorable mention.
