We have a brand new trailer for the upcoming supernatural horror feature, The Forest. I have to say this film looks like it might make it to the top of my highly anticipated horror films of 2016 based off of the very scary trailer alone. The film is co-written by David S. Goyer (Blade, The Unborn, Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice) and directed by Jason Zada who won an Emmy award for directing Bill Oberst Jr. in the very creepy Take This Lollipop app for Facebook a few years ago. The film is based on the true story of Japan’s Suicide Forest. Check out the trailer down below.
Look for the film to be released sometime in early 2016!
The Forest is written by Nick Antosca, Sarah Cornwell, David S. Goyer, and Ben Ketai. The film is directed by Jason Zada.
The cast includes Natalie Dormer (The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 1, Game of Thrones), Taylor Kinney (Chicago Fire), Yukiyoshi Ozawa, Eoin Macken, Rina Takasaki
Plot Synopsis
An unexplained horror occurs in a Japanese forest. The film, set in the Aokigahara forest at the base of Mt. Fuji, centers on a young American woman (Dormer) who goes in search of her missing twin sister. Despite everyone’s warnings to “stay on the path,” Sara enters the forest determined to discover the truth about her sister’s fate, only to be confronted by the angry and tormented souls of the dead who prey on anyone who wanders the forest.
