The best thing that could’ve ever happened was the announcement last year of The X-Files coming back to TV as a limited run miniseries on Fox in January 2016. Like many X-Philes out there, the series that initially ran from 1993-2002 was one of my all-time favorite series ever! Now Fox is trying to tempt us with an all too brief teaser of what we’ll be seeing come January. Read on and check out the teaser below.
To prime the pump in advance of the miniseries’ 2016 premiere, Fox aired a teaser during the last episode of Wayward Pines, itself a show gunning heavily to carve out a slice of the same cultural space the X-Files did back in the Clinton years. Featuring the first glimpse ever of what we’ll see next year, that footage now is online:
Featuring the return of David Duchovny as Fox Mulder and Gillian Anderson as Dana Scully, along with Mitch Pileggi (Skinner) and William B. Davis (The Smoking Man), The X-Files miniseries event starts with a two-night premiere, immediately following the NFC Championship Game on Sunday, January 24, then continuing the next night in its regular time slot of 8 PM Monday.
