We’re just 26 days away from the premiere of “Scream: The TV Series” on MTV. As I’ve mentioned before, fans of the franchise from Wes Craven are divided as the television show won’t be canon to Scream 1 – 4 and will only exist “inside the world” created by the iconic director. So, I think that Stab 7 heading into casting and pre-production is happening at just the right time…especially after the show’s mask release earlier this morning. Who wouldn’t want to see the iconic Ghostface character stalking helpless victims once again?
The “Stab” movies were introduced during Scream 2 in 1997 as a movie within a movie based on the previous movie. The “Stab” movies became an immensely popular aspect of the film series and the men and women over at StabMovies.com have taken that love one step further. For several years now Joshua Patrick Dudley has written and directed unofficial, fan made films in the “Stab” universe: Stab 3: Hollywood Horror, Stab 4: Fresh Blood, Stab 5, Stab 6: Ghostface Returns and short films Stabbed and Stabbed 2. All movies are available for online streaming here.
Stab 7: Knife of the Hunter went into production in 2013, but was shut down for unknown reasons. Now, StabMovies.com is revamping the script and trying again to get Stab 7 made. First things first, though, they have to get the cast in place! So, take a gander at the casting call pictured above. Do you want to get chased by Ghostface in an independent fan film in the Scream universe? If you meet the requirements, please send your materials to stabmovies@yahoo.com for your chance to appear in the film. StabMovies.com is listed as hailing from New Hampshire, so make sure you’re in the area or neighboring states!
