Short Film: The Smiling Man

This short film was a recommended video on my YouTube page and it turned out to be not that bad! The Smiling Man is your typical low budget YouTube upload, but it has a lot of potential and almost 30,000 views. Still, it has some audio blips, hazy lighting and focus at night and a character that stupidly returns to the area where he was just attacked an hour or so earlier.

What really sparks my interest in this short film, though, is the villainous character, Smiling Man, and the concept that was put into motion with his creation. He has an almost Slender Man quality about him that was eerie in a subtle way. I would love to see him return, more fleshed out in a feature film maybe through an IndieGoGo campaign.

Who knows? Maybe you’ll see the potential here, too.

The Smiling Man is written and directed by Adrian Huff based on the story by Keoni Chavez. Cast members include Huff, Levi Doublet, Jamie Doublet and Andrew Bartek.
